Steel Research & Testing Co., Ltd. Establishes a Non-Destructive Testing Industry Standard

On October 20th, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China issued Announcement No. 23 of 2022, releasing 2 domestic and 3 foreign language versions of industry standards for non-destructive testing of steel products. One industry standard and three foreign language versions led by the Steel Research Institute of Nanke Detection Technology Co., Ltd. were officially published.

The newly released industry standard is: YB/T 6019-2022 "Ultrasonic Testing Methods for Die Steels." The publication of this standard fills a gap in the domestic ultrasonic testing methods for die steels, and is of great significance for standardizing the methods of non-destructive testing and evaluation of die steels.

The three released foreign language versions of industry standards are: YB/T 4082-2020 "Comprehensive Performance Testing Method for Automatic Ultrasonic Testing Systems for Steel Pipes and Bars," YB/T 4083-2020 "Comprehensive Performance Testing Method for Automatic Eddy Current Testing Systems for Steel Pipes and Bars," and YB/T 4289-2020 "Comprehensive Performance Testing Method for Automatic Magnetic Flux Leakage Testing Systems for Steel Pipes and Bars."

The YB/T 4082-2020, YB/T 4083-2020, and YB/T 4289-2020 standards are currently the established methods for performance testing of automated non-destructive testing systems, with a broad application range domestically. The release of the foreign language versions of this series of standards is of significant importance in promoting the internationalization of these standards.
