The diaphragm pressure filter is a press filter that incorporates an elastic membrane between the filter plates and filter cloth. During operation, upon completion of the feed, a high-pressure fluid or gas medium can be injected into the diaphragm plate, causing the entire diaphragm to bulge and compress the filter cake, thereby achieving further dewatering of the filter cake, which is commonly referred to as squeezing filtration.

Diaphragm press filters offer high squeezing pressure, excellent corrosion resistance, easy maintenance, and safety reliability. They are the preferred choice for customers in industries such as metallurgy, coal gas, papermaking, coking, pharmaceuticals, food, brewing, and fine chemicals.

Diaphragm presses have been widely applied in various fields requiring solid-liquid separation. Diaphragm presses are considered to be an alternative and upgraded equipment for conventional box presses.

Diaphragm filter presses demonstrate excellent performance in terms of processing capacity per unit area, reducing the moisture content of the filter cake, and their adaptability to the properties of the treated material.

The main difference between a diaphragm filter press and a regular box filter press is the addition of two elastic membranes (composite rubber diaphragms are a single sheet) on both sides of the filter plates. During operation, once the feeding is complete, high-pressure fluid medium can be injected into the diaphragm plate. At this point, the entire diaphragm will bulge, pressing the filter cake, thereby achieving further dewatering of the filter cake, which is known as squeezing filtration.

Diaphragm press filters are used in sludge and wastewater treatment, achieving a filter cake moisture content of less than 60%. Compared to traditional box-type press filters, the solid content of the filter cake can be increased by more than twice, significantly reducing transportation costs for the filter cake. The filter cake can be directly burned in power plants, truly transforming sludge into a resource and wastewater into clean water, completely replacing box-type press filters.
