Product Overview
High-strength hard aluminum, heat-treatable for strengthening, and weldable.
2A12 aluminum alloy, belonging to the Al-Cu-Mg series, is a high-strength hard aluminum that can be heat-treated for strengthening. It has moderate plasticity in both quenching and tempered states, good spot welding, but a tendency to form intergranular cracks during gas welding. The alloy maintains good machinability after quenching and cold working hardening, but has low machinability after annealing. Its corrosion resistance is not high, so anodizing, painting, or adding an aluminum clad layer to the surface are commonly used to enhance its corrosion resistance.

Product Application
2A12 is primarily used for manufacturing various high-load components and structures (excluding stamping and forgings), such as aircraft frame parts, skin, frames, wing ribs, wing spars, rivets, and other components operating below 150°C.
