Today, a customer inquired about the differences between the material grades Q235A and Q235B for spiral steel pipes. Here, I'll briefly explain the differences from six aspects, please note that the information provided is for reference only as the data is incomplete.
The carbon and sulfur content of Q235A is higher than that of Q235B.
2. Q235A is non-impact, whereas Q235B has a 20-degree room temperature impact.
3. Q235A steel contains chemical elements as follows: C ≤0.22%, Mn 0.3%-0.65%, Si ≤0.35%, S ≤0.050%, P ≤0.045%.
4. Q235B grade steel contains chemical elements: C ≤0.20%, Mn 0.3%-0.7%, Si ≤0.35%, S ≤0.045%, P ≤0.045%.
Q235A is typically used in the hot-rolled condition, and the steel shapes, rebars, steel plates, and steel pipes produced from it can be used to manufacture various welded structural components, bridges, and some common machine parts, such as bolts, tie rods, rivets, rings, and connecting rods.
6. Q235B is the most widely used steel pipe within our current scope, serving industries such as water supply, oil, and urban construction.
Spiral steel pipes are composed of "Q" followed by a number, a quality grade symbol, and a deoxidation method symbol. The steel grade is prefixed with "Q," indicating the yield point of the steel, with the following number representing the yield point value in MPa. For example, Q235 denotes a carbon structural steel with a yield point (σs) of 235 MPa. Optionally, symbols indicating the quality grade and deoxidation method can be appended to the steel grade. The quality grade symbols are A, B, C, and D.
