Product Information

From molecular interaction studies to biophysics and biomaterials research, the MP-SPR Navi™ 220A NAALI makes all measurements as traditional SPR does, and provides superior data with PureKinetics™. It also enables the measurement of conformational changes. The biggest difference between MP-SPR and traditional SPR lies in the optical aspect. Traditional SPR optical measurements are confined to a very narrow range of θ angles, limiting the instrument's functionality. The SPR Navi™ scans a wide range of θ angles (tens of degrees), thus obtaining a complete SPR curve. Moreover, with the addition of an extra laser beam, the SPR Navi™ addresses many research topics that were previously open-ended. Since the complete SPR curve can reflect and detect all changes in the interface layer, MP-SPR can study a wide variety of samples, interfaces, and systems, which is not possible with traditional SPR.

Technical Specifications

Measurement Principle

Real-time and unmarked multi-parameter surface plasmon resonance (MP-SPR) is an SPR device based on actual angle measurement, equipped with a rotating laser and detector.

Wide angle measurement range: 40°- 78°, true angle resolution: 0.001.

Liquid Treatment

Automatic 96-hole plate liquid processing for unattended operation.

Accurate injection pump control of the buffer fluid flow, with integrated degassing unit.

2 independent flow channels. Select series or parallel injection via software switch.

Flow rate range: 1 μl/min - 1000 μl/min.

Sample consumption rate

Partial ring injection can reduce the sample consumption to the lowest.

Minimum sample volume: 100 μl, minimum injection volume: 50 μl.

Laser Wavelength

Both flow channels are standard wavelength: 670 nm.

Each flow channel will be equipped with 2 laser beams (670nm and 785nm) via the additional L-Option. Other wavelengths available upon request.

Additional wavelengths enable simultaneous measurement of thickness and refractive index.

Refraction range

1.00-1.40 (measurement of the body environment), expandable via additional wavelengths.

MP-SPR can measure layers with higher refractive indices (RI), such as diamond-like (2.7) and inorganic crystals.

MP-SPR can also measure the birefringence of liquid, gas, and solid layers.

Medium

A complete scan includes two environments: gas and liquid.

Measurement is not limited to aqueous liquids but also extends to organic liquids such as ethanol and acetonitrile. For compatibility with other organic liquids, please inquire with us. PureKinetics™ can correct for differences in running buffer and sample composition, even up to 5% DMSO!

Operation Mode

Angular scan mode, "MP-SPR mode": Scans a series of angles, providing a complete SPR curve and multiple parameters. Several sensing spectra can be extracted from the full SPR curve, such as PureKinetics™.

Sample rate depends on the selected angle range and resolution, typically less than 2 seconds.

Fixed-angle mode, "Traditional SPR mode": Measures at a single angle, providing a time-intensity sensing spectrum. Used for studying rapid dynamics, with a maximum sampling rate of up to 1 ms.

Measurement Range

Thickness: from Ångströms to micrometers (specific range depends on the material's refractive index)

Dynamics: ka = 103– 1081/(M*s),kd = 10-7– 0.11/s,KD = 10-12– 10-3M

Sensitivity

1μRIU (Refractive Index); 1pg/mm2(Protein Surface Coverage); Smallest Detected Molecule: In gas phase, hydrogen (2 Da); in liquid phase, smallest molecular weight < 100 Da

Noise

Short-term noise: 0.3 μRIU; Baseline drift (long-term) < 1 μRIU/min

Temperature

Temperature Measurement Range: 15℃–45℃ (Room Temperature +20℃/-7℃)

Prism

Prisms with matching adhesives enable quick sensor replacement, prevent sample contamination from refractive index matching oil, and allow for further analysis of the sample using other methods. No need for refractive index matching oil or expensive gold-plated prisms.

Flow Pool

Easily replace the circulation pool with a single release button.

Standard Flow Cell: PDMS material, each channel volume 1 μl. Optional Flow Cells: SPR305-MS with larger tube diameter and high chemical resistance PEEK flow cell; SPR321-EC electrochemical flow cell; SPR310-GS:

Gas flow cell; SPR302-LS: for rapid kinetic studies; or customized flow cells upon request.

Sensor/Substrate

We offer a wide range of surfaces, including metals (Au, Ag, Cu, Pt, etc.) and other inorganic substances (SiO).2,Al2O3,TiO2, etc.) or functionalized surfaces (CMD, Ni, etc.)2+,etc.)。

The chip holder facilitates non-in-situ deposition on the sensor surface (e.g., immersion coating).

If you can't find the sensor you need, we can provide a custom one to your specifications.

Software

Unlimited MP-SPR Navi™ Control and DataViewer software. Includes TraceDrawer™ software for dynamic analysis. Optional: LayerSolver™ fitting tool for layer characterization.

Maintain

No service contract required, unless you want one. HPLC piping makes it easy to replace fluid components.

Computer Requirements

Windows 7, 8.1, or 10, 1x USB 2.0, 4GB RAM, 10GB Hard Drive (1GB for installation, remaining space for measurement data)

Dimensions & Weight

W 62 x H 41 x D 47 cm (24” x 16” x 18.5”),50 kg (110 lbs)

Power requirements

100-240V,50/60Hz,Max. 100W

Application Fields

Antibody Characterization: Affinity and kinetics of antibody-antigen interactions can be measured in various liquids, including complex fluids such as serum, urine, or saliva.

Bio-sensor Development: From nanoparticle-based competitive analysis to electrochemical sensors, up to direct analysis methods, MP-SPR displays all steps of the analysis process. Bio-sensors can be developed on glass, polymers, silicon dioxide, metal surfaces, or nanoparticles.

Biomaterials: MP-SPR measures interactions occurring on polymers up to a thickness of 5μm. MP-SPR is the most sensitive unlabelled technique for studying biomaterial interactions and characterizing layers. It can optimize: formulations for drug controlled release, new coatings for cell and tissue engineering, and industrial protective coatings.
