During the washing process of water-washed fabrics, water quality is a crucial medium. If the water in the laundry factory is hard water, a water softener must be added during the main washing process.

For light soiled items such as sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases, and other fabric goods, when using bleach during the washing process, it is recommended to primarily use color-safe bleach and sparingly use chlorine bleach. For instance, use color-safe bleach for 4-5 days out of a week, and chlorine bleach only for 1-2 days. This is because chlorine bleach is a strong oxidizing agent, which can cause a chemical reaction with impurities in the water, producing a metallic chloride that remains in the fabric fibers. This chloride can then oxidize in the air after ironing or drying, leading to yellowing of the fabric.

During the water rinse process, the rinse water is quite crucial. After the fabric is washed and the dirt is removed, a mixture of detergent and dirt forms in the water solution, and it is also at a certain temperature. If cold water is directly added for rinsing during this process, it can cause the fabric to shrink, locking the mixture of dirt firmly within the fibers. Over time, this can lead to dirt buildup, causing the fabric to become gray and yellow.

4. When washing towels, not properly mastering the washing process can easily turn them yellow, gray, or even make them stiff. Therefore, strictly following the washing procedure is crucial. Many hotels, motels, and laundry services often encounter similar issues.

When washing towels: It is crucial to control the amount of detergent and machine capacity during the main wash, and try to use hot water for rinsing. After rinsing, always add a neutralizing acid to neutralize the pH. The softener should be used in moderation; too much can cause the towels to turn yellow. Towels that are not thoroughly dried will appear gray, and towels that are not treated with a neutralizing agent over time will become stiff.
