YAMAHA YRM20 SMT Machine Basic Parameters:

January 10, 2020 - Yamaha SMT machines, the new YRM20 surface mount machine* will be launched in April 2021.

This modular Yamaha pick-and-place mechanism is built on a brand-new next-generation platform, showcasing the factory's intelligence. It employs two types of pick-and-place heads: the newly developed high-speed, multi-purpose rotary (rm) head, which, when paired with the new high-speed feeders, offers worldwide pick-and-place performance of 115,000 CPH; and the 1-head solution achieved through the newly designed online (HM) pick-and-place head, combining high speed with high functionality.
High-precision placement up to 25 μm (Cpk≥1.0) supports microchip component installation for 0201 (0.25×0.125mm) sizes. Additionally, the newly developed conveyor can handle cardboard widths of 510mm, optimized layout enhancing throughput and significantly reducing the time needed for PCB board changes. With ultra-high-speed transmission inherited from the advanced modular sigma series, production is achieved with reduced head entry restrictions during front-to-back table interference, and productivity is improved.
Additionally, the graphical user interface (GUI) on the operation screen has been updated, making intuitive operation easy. Yamaha Motor will showcase the new YAMAHA YRM20 SMD machine at the 34th Japan International Electronics Show, demonstrating electronic manufacturing and surface mount technology. The event will take place from January 15th to 17th at Tokyo Big Sight (Tokyo Old Temple).

We leverage our strengths by utilizing a comprehensive range of installation equipment, such as surface mounters, distributors, and inspection devices. These are designed to enhance production efficiency during the installation process, especially in conjunction with other equipment on the assembly line. Our new rapid and powerful application software interacts seamlessly, securely, and without waste with peripheral systems and software. Dual-head unit, combining a rotating head with a multi-functional inline head, to achieve the world's production speed – the next generation high-speed rotating head with Sigma technology

The newly developed rotating head, specially designed for the next-generation platform, when paired with a durable, new high-speed feeding mechanism, boosts the tape feeding speed and achieves a production rate of up to 115,000 CPH.

The inline magnetic levitation head offers high speed and impressive versatility.

The combination of a new servo system and continuously evolving online magnetic heads achieves an ultra-fast speed of 98,000 CPH (under Yamaha lab conditions). Customized according to the concept of a single-head solution, this machine can handle ultra-small components, large components, and all components in between within a rapid multifunctional placement.

High precision and high-quality mounting of microchips

The new X-beam design reduces 25 μm thermal deformation (Cpk≥1.0) for high-precision installation. This allows the machine to handle 0201-sized microchip components. The installable part size range is from 0201 to 12×12 mm (for RM head) and 55×100 mm (for HM head).
The new component of the machine features an identification camera that can switch between online and area images, achieving flexible, quick, and high-quality recognition. Moreover, the new internal diameter connection nozzle provides high-speed, precise fitting with a lighter tip slider. Production speed is faster

The machine can accommodate circuit boards up to 510mm wide, featuring an optimized layout and faster transport speed, significantly reducing the time for PCB replacement and enhancing production efficiency. It also employs high-speed transmission and Sigma technology for production. In cases of front and rear platform interference, reducing head entry restrictions further boosts actual production rates.

The new user interface features advanced design and easy-to-read layout, supporting intuitive user control. The new operator mode allows users to only operate necessary controls, enhancing the controllability of the production site. Additionally, due to the new visual system and interface, the time required to create part data for components with complex shapes is significantly reduced.
