Cautionary Tips for Loading and Unloading Galvanized H-Beams

During the handling of galvanized H-beams, we strive to avoid direct contact with wire ropes and fasteners, if possible. Additionally, for the racks storing the galvanized H-beams, we use wooden or rubber boards to separate them from carbon steel components, and prepare a set of tools including hammers, wooden mallets, and copper mallets, as well as hot-rolled flat wire brushes.

Moreover, when using galvanized H-shaped steel, we should be cautious not to strike its surface directly with a hammer, nor should we use square steel tubes to make direct contact with our carbon steel supports. We need to place hot-rolled steel plates and plastic boards between the supports and our pipes. In addition, rubber sheets or other insulating materials should be垫上 as well. By doing so, we can prevent the occurrence of渗碳 carbon penetration and corrosion due to potential differences.

For galvanized H-beams, a sleeve must be installed when they pass through walls or floors. The gap between the sleeve and the pipe is also greater than 10 mm; if there is space within it, additional insulation is required. For insulation, iron filings, rust, and other debris should be avoided. As a rule, asbestos rope is used for insulation.

For galvanized H-beam heads, they can be directly connected to prefabricated hot-rolled flat steel tees, such as steering pump pipes, followed by attaching hot-rolled flat steel. Then, you need to connect the branch pipe to the holes on the head pipe. Additionally, mechanical processing is required using a drill bit and milling cutter. If you plan to use carbon arc cutting or plasma cutting, you will also need to polish the workpiece with a polisher.

In many respects, galvanized H-beams have a significant impact on the construction quality and other aspects of our project. Therefore, we pay attention to the aforementioned issues before ensuring the quality of the galvanized H-beams and other factors.
