Selecting Insulation Material Thickness Factors:

The higher the temperature, the thicker the material. The greater the relative humidity, the thicker the material.

Flame-retardant properties of rubber and plastic:

Oxygen Index. The oxygen index of a material refers to the oxygen concentration required to sustain combustion of the material; a higher oxygen index indicates better flame retardancy. Conversely, a lower oxygen index suggests poorer flame retardancy. An oxygen index greater than 26 will self-extinguish in air, while an oxygen index greater than 32 is difficult to ignite. Commonly used oxygen index methods for flammable materials include: copolymerization – introducing atoms like X, P, N into the molecular chain through copolymerization reactions, which, during material decomposition, produce HX, NH3, etc., to dilute the density of small molecules like alkenes and alkanes generated by chain scission; and grafting – attaching flame-retardant monomers to the flammable molecular chain through grafting reactions, utilizing their flame-retardant properties.


Add flame-retardant additives to isolate the product from air and flammable gases, enhancing its flame-retardant properties. Flame-retardant additives are divided into two types: halogen-based additives and metal hydroxide flame-retardants.
