May 11, 2025, the Establishment Conference of the Agricultural Optics专业委员会 of the Chinese Society for Optics and the 6th National Academic Symposium on Optics and Agriculture were grandly held in Hefei, Anhui. The event was hosted by the Agricultural Optics专业委员会 of the Chinese Society for Optics, co-organized by the Anhui Society for Optics, the Department of Optics and Optical Engineering of the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), Fuyang Normal University, and other institutions. Academicians Guo Guangcan and Guo Ying awarded letters of appointment to Professor Liu Wen of USTC as the first Director-General and other committee members. The conference featured two major forums, focusing on topics such as luminescent devices, spectral crop interaction mechanisms, agricultural optical instruments and equipment, and agricultural optical films, with 20 scholars from 16 institutions including Zhejiang University, Jilin Agricultural University, Hunan Agricultural University, Anhui Agricultural University, Northwest University, and the Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics, and Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivering high-level keynote speeches. A special poster session showcased 12 youth research achievements from Shenzhen University of Science and Technology and Hunan Agricultural University. Collaborating organizations also demonstrated industrialization achievements such as spectral regulation artificial climate chambers and plant phenotyping analysis platforms.
