Curbstone, also known as sidewalk or curb, is commonly used as a boundary marker along the edges of roads. It delineates the separation between driving lanes, pedestrian walkways, green spaces, dividers, and other road sections, ensuring pedestrian and vehicle safety as well as maintaining the neatness of the road edge.
Rearrangement of Stone Quality Standards
Curbstone Material Requirements: The curbstone material is machine-cut from uniform natural stone. The stone must meet the required strength standards, featuring even coloration, no cracks on the surface, complete edges, consistent appearance, no obvious spots or color variations, and no weathering. It must not be dropped,砸, bumped, or collided during handling to prevent damage.
Roadside Stone Processing Requirements
The length is to be cut to size, with the exposed surface requiring machine-cut polishing. Length tolerances are ±20mm, while width, thickness, and height tolerances are ±2mm.
Street Sidewalk Construction Requirements
Curbing must be tensioned with a straight line for construction, following the elevation markings on the side and top planes. Side curbing stones should be laid in line, ensuring they are properly aligned and not tilted forward or backward. The top line of the side should be straight, smooth, and even, without any unevenness or misalignment. The plane should not have any up and down misalignment or internal and external misalignment.
b. Curbs must be constructed using concrete inlay, ensuring the inlay is dense and solid; filling gaps with inlay is strictly prohibited.
c. The gaps at the roadside curb joints should not exceed 1mm; the side stones and flat stones must be evenly staggered in the middle.
d. Curbing side stones should meet the size and finish requirements of the design. Appearance should be aesthetically pleasing, and for弯道(bend) sections, side stones should be specially machined to the design radius to form bend stones. During construction, ensure the line is smooth, rounded, and joints are tightly fitted. Arc-shaped side stones must be hand-finished and polished.
The soil behind the curb should be compacted, with a compaction width of no less than 50mm and a thickness of no less than 15mm.
f. Curbing: When jointing, it is necessary to hang a line again, clean out any debris from the side stone joints, moisten with water, and then fill and compact the joints with 1:2.5 cement mortar.
g. After installing curbs, properly water and maintain them.
