Rockwool board, also known as thermal insulation and decorative rockwool board, is an inorganic fiber board made by high-temperature melting processing of basalt. It was successfully piloted in June 1981. Rockwool board is a new type of thermal insulation, fire-retardant, and sound-absorbing material.
Rockwool board features
Fire Retardant
Exterior mineral wool boards are made from natural volcanic rock, making them non-combustible building materials and fire-resistant products.
Key Fire Retardant Features:
⚡Fire-rated A1, effectively preventing the spread of fire.
The dimensions are extremely stable and will not elongate, contract, or deform in a fire.
High-temperature resistant, melting point above 1000°C.
No smoke or burning droplets/particles produced in fire.
No harmful environmental substances or gases are released in case of fire.
Insulation and heat preservation
The exterior rock wool board features fine, long, and flexible fibers with low slag content. Consequently, it has a low thermal conductivity and excellent insulation properties.
Noise Reduction and Sound Absorption
Rockwool is an ideal sound insulation material; its large number of thin, elongated fibers form a porous interconnected structure, determining that Sichte Rockwool is an effective sound-absorbing and noise-reduction material.
Hydrophobic
Water-repellent rock wool products can achieve a water-repellent rate of up to 99.9%; low water absorption, no capillary penetration.
Moisture resistance
Rock wool has a moisture absorption rate of less than 0.2% in environments with high relative humidity. The moisture absorption rate is less than 0.3% when tested according to the ASTM C1104 or ASTM 1104M method.
Non-corrosive
Rock wool has stable chemical properties with a pH value of 7-8, neutral to slightly alkaline, suitable for carbon steel and stainless steel.
All metals such as aluminum are free from corrosion.
Safety & Environmental Protection
Rock wool is free from asbestos and harmful substances to the environment such as CFCs, HFCs, and HCFCs. It is not corroded or prone to mold and bacterial growth.
