Gases are introduced into the scrubber tower, where they counter-currently contact the scrubbing liquid. The H2S in the gas is absorbed by the scrubbing liquid, and the gas is then discharged from the top of the tower to the usage unit. The scrubbing liquid is pumped into the scrubber tower from the degassing zone of the bioreactor by the scrubbing tower circulation pump, with some water used for foaming control in the reactor spray. The scrubbing water is collected at the bottom of the scrubber tower and flows to the bioreactor by gravity. In the biochemical reactor, by controlling the oxygen supply, sulfides are converted to elemental sulfur while alkalis are regenerated. A certain amount of nutrient salt is required in the reactor to sustain the survival of the microorganisms.
