Feature characteristics
Liangyu 99D is a genetically modified corn hybrid with traits of resistance to Asian corn borer, armyworm, and cotton bollworm. In the indoor identification of Asian corn borer, its heart leaves, silk, and kernels all show a high level of resistance. Field identification also indicates that the leaves and female spikes exhibit high resistance, with the stems showing significantly better resistance than the control. Additionally, this variety demonstrates high resistance to armyworm and cotton bollworm. It also has resistance to stalk rot disease, but is susceptible to fusarium ear rot, southern rust, and smut. In the comprehensive agronomic trait test of summer corn varieties in the Huanghuaihai region, Liangyu 99D takes 106.5 days from emergence to maturity, showing high resistance to stalk rot and smut, moderate resistance to small spot and leaf spot diseases, and southern rust. The combined lodging and breakage rate is 0.2%, and there are no significant differences in basic traits such as growth period, disease resistance, and lodging/breakage rate compared to the recipient variety.
Production Performance
In the unified trial of national corn varieties and the comprehensive agronomic trait trial of summer corn varieties in the Huang-Huai-Hai region, Liangyu 99D achieved an average yield of 664 kilograms per mu in the production comparison trial in 2022, a 6.2% increase over the recipient variety.
Key Cultivation Techniques:
Seed Coating: After selecting high-quality seeds, choose registered corn-specific seed coatings based on local soil conditions and pest and disease situations for seed coating treatment.
Timely Sowing: It is recommended to sow in the middle of June, using no-till planters and ensuring the sowing depth is maintained between 3-5 cm. Where conditions permit, precision corn planters can be used to complete both fertilization and sowing in a single operation.
