Graphite-modified polypropylene membrane absorbers are a new type of PP absorber that has emerged recently. This polypropylene absorber is a wet-wall surface absorption unit, suitable for absorbing volatile corrosive gases that release heat (such as HCL, SO2, etc.).

The absorbent descends in a film-like manner along the inner wall of the vertical tube bundle through the fabric membrane, while the gas flows downwards (co-current) or upwards (countercurrent) through the inner tube space, transferring mass across the flowing liquid film. External cooling agents are circulated around the tube bundle to remove the heat released during the absorption process. Due to its numerous superior properties over the graphite membrane absorber, it has been widely used to replace the graphite membrane absorber.
