Noise control engineering is a comprehensive field, primarily encompassing three major aspects: identification and control of noise sources, blocking of noise transmission pathways, and protection of noise reception points. Specific tasks include noise reduction for industrial equipment, transportation facilities, and construction sites, such as installing mufflers and soundproof enclosures; designing soundproofing and sound-absorbing measures for noise transmission routes, such as setting up noise barriers and soundproof walls; and implementing protective measures in sensitive noise areas like residential zones and schools, such as installing soundproof windows and planting soundproof green belts. Additionally, it also includes noise monitoring and assessment, as well as the establishment and enforcement of noise standards.
