Noise control engineering is a comprehensive field, primarily encompassing three major aspects: identification and control of noise sources, blocking of noise transmission paths, and protection of noise reception points. Specific tasks involve noise reduction for sources such as industrial equipment, transportation facilities, and construction sites, including the installation of mufflers and soundproofing covers; soundproofing and sound-absorbing design for noise pathways, such as setting up acoustic barriers and soundproofing walls; and implementing protective measures in sensitive noise areas like residential districts and schools, such as installing soundproof windows and planting soundproofing green belts. Additionally, it includes noise monitoring and assessment, as well as the establishment and enforcement of noise standards.
