Noise control engineering is a comprehensive field, primarily involving three major aspects: identification and control of noise sources, blocking of noise transmission pathways, and protection of noise reception points. Specific tasks include noise reduction treatment for noise sources such as industrial equipment, transportation facilities, and construction projects, such as installing mufflers and soundproofing covers; designing soundproofing and absorption for noise pathways, such as setting up sound barriers and noise-reducing walls; and implementing protective measures in sensitive noise areas like residential districts and schools, such as installing soundproof windows and planting soundproofing green belts. Additionally, it includes noise monitoring and evaluation, as well as the establishment and enforcement of noise standards.
