Stone cage net, also known as "stone cage net, stone cage cage net, gabion net". According to different materials and structures, the names vary, and can be roughly divided into three types: net cage, cushion (below 0.5m), and mesh bag.
1、 Classification of stone cage mesh
1. Twisted flower net
Twisted mesh (also known as hexagonal mesh) is a wire mesh made of metal wire woven into a hexagonal mesh. The diameter of the metal wire used varies according to the size of the hexagon. Hexagonal mesh is widely used in industries such as petrochemicals, construction, and aquaculture. Such as pipe wrapping, boiler insulation, antifreeze, residential protection, and landscaping protection. It can also be used for animal enclosures such as fish farming, chickens, ducks, rabbits, etc. Stone cage mesh, also known as heavy-duty twisted mesh, is a net cage made of metal wire woven into a hexagonal mesh. The diameter of the metal wire used varies according to the size of the hexagon. Stone cage mesh is widely used in controlling and guiding rivers and floods, flood discharge dams and diversion dams, rock collapse protection to prevent soil erosion, bridge protection, soil stabilization structures, coastal defense projects, port engineering, retaining walls, and road protection.
2. Stone cage net cage
Gabion net cage refers to a box shaped net cage made of heavy-duty hexagonal mesh, hence it is called "gabion net or gabion net cage". In Europe, it is also called gabion net cage or gabion net cage. The stone cage is filled with stones at the construction site to form a flexible, permeable, and integral structure, such as retaining walls, river lining, weirs, and other support structures for erosion prevention. The gabion net cage is divided into several cells by partitions (double twisted hexagonal metal mesh sheets) spaced 1 meter apart. In order to enhance the strength of the gabion net cage structure, thicker steel wires are used at the edges of all mesh plates. Control and guide rivers, flood discharge dams, diversion dams, rock collapse protection to prevent water and soil erosion, bridge protection, solid soil structure, coastal defense engineering, port engineering, retaining walls, and road protection
Characteristics of stone cage cage:
(1) Economy. Just put the stone into the cage and seal it; (2) Construction is simple and does not require special techniques; (3) Has strong resistance to natural damage, corrosion, and adverse weather conditions; (4) Can withstand large-scale deformation without collapsing; (5) The silt between the crevices of the cage stones is beneficial for plant production and can merge with the surrounding natural environment; (6) Has good permeability and can prevent damage caused by hydrostatic forces; (7) Save transportation costs. It can be folded up for transportation and assembled on the construction site.
The main uses of stone cage cages are:
(1) Control and guide rivers and floods; (2) Flood discharge dam and diversion dam; (3) Rock collapse protection; (4) Prevent water and soil erosion; (5) Bridge protection; (6) Soil consolidation structure (7) coastal defense engineering; (8) Port engineering; (9) Retaining wall; (10) Road protection
The gabion net cage can also be made into triangles or trapezoids, and the embankment built with such gabion net cages has a sloping surface on the same plane. Gabion net cages are often used as retaining walls in hydraulic engineering. Gabion net retaining walls are constructed by stacking gabion net cages ranging from 0.5 meters to 1.0 meters. Stone cage cage retaining walls are mainly used on steep mountain slopes to control mudslides, prevent landslides, and protect roadbeds of highways and railways. The reason for using gabion cages is because they have unique ecological functions. Sprinkle some soil on the surface of the protective layer to carry out greening. Due to the gaps between the stones, which contain soil, it is conducive to the development of plant roots and creates a good ecological environment. Even if the soil is not sprinkled, over time, the gaps between the stones will still silence the soil, leading to the growth of some herbaceous plants and the formation of a natural ecological environment.

3. Reinforced gabion mesh
There are two types of reinforced gabion mesh: one is made of reinforced mesh sheets, and the other is a mesh sheet added or dragged behind the gabion mesh.
1). Tightening mesh refers to the process of adding steel wire mesh of the same material as hexagonal mesh in the vertical or parallel direction when weaving wire mesh. The tensile strength of reinforced hexagonal mesh is higher than that of ordinary hexagonal mesh, and the diameter of the reinforcing wire is generally not less than the diameter of the edge wire. Installed on the roadbed, especially when the foundation tensile stress is high, it can absorb and fundamentally reduce the tensile stress caused by cracks or traffic.
2). Reinforced gabion net cage is a mesh connected to a heavy-duty hexagonal mesh after the net cage. The mesh penetrates deep into the soil as a reinforced connecting mesh for the net cage, using the friction between the soil and the mesh to provide a certain degree of anti sliding force, and has good environmental affinity.
4. Zinc aluminum alloy net cage
The mesh rectangular box made of zinc aluminum alloy steel wire has a service life of about 70-80 years, which is twice that of ordinary galvanized steel wire.
5. Electric welded gabion mesh
Electric welded gabion mesh is a mesh cage made of high-quality steel wire welded together. Filling the box with block stones or natural pebbles can be used for highway, slope protection, tunnel protection, bridge protection, retaining walls, etc. It has advantages such as permeability and integrity.
6. Sackgbin, also known as gabion mesh bag or alloy mesh bag.
Saikegbin refers to a cylindrical engineering component composed of a machine woven double twisted hexagonal metal mesh surface, which is filled with block stones and other fillers to form a flexible and permeable structure. It is used in various emergency projects such as sand prevention and river regulation. Due to its flexibility, it can provide special protection.
During the construction process, the mesh bag is filled with stones to form a sturdy structure. There are gaps between the stones, which enhances its permeability. Stone cage mesh bags are used to prevent erosion in river channels, embankments, and various emergency construction projects. In the process of weaving mesh bags, thicker iron wire is embedded inside the heavy-duty hexagonal mesh for the convenience of tying. Stone cage mesh bags undergo strict standard testing at all stages of the production process.
7. Renault pad
The reason why it is named Renault pad is because its first application was in the Renault River in Italy. Renault cushion, also known as Gabin cushion or gabion cushion. Renault cushion refers to a cushion shaped engineering component composed of a machine woven double twisted hexagonal metal mesh surface with a thickness much smaller than its length and width. After being filled with block stones and other fillers, it is connected into a whole and becomes a main anti erosion structure used for water conservancy embankments, bank slopes, Haiman, etc. It has the advantages of flexibility and adaptability to the foundation. Renault pads are net cage structures with a thickness of 0.15-0.3m (including 0.3m). Mainly used as a slope protection structure for river channels, bank slopes, and roadbed slopes. It can prevent the riverbank from being damaged by water flow and wind waves, and also achieve the natural convection exchange function between the water body and the soil below the slope, achieving ecological balance. Planting green on the slope can enhance the landscape and greening effect. The Renault pad is divided into several cells by partitions. In order to enhance the strength of the Renault pad structure, all panel edges are made of steel wires with larger diameters.
Renault pad product specifications and features:
Improve the stability of riverbed slopes.
Protect the riverbed from erosion.
