Brief Introduction:
Golden yellow powder. Oxygen content: 52%~54% (atomic). Body-centered cubic structure. Density: 4.888 g/cm³. Soluble in 40% (mass) hydrofluoric acid. Easily attacked by concentrated sulfuric acid, concentrated hydrochloric acid, and concentrated nitric acid. Also susceptible to attack by concentrated alkalis. Reacts with 30% (mass) hydrogen peroxide to produce a yellow solution. Strong reducing agent. Upon heating in air, transforms into titanium(IV) oxide at 150~200°C. Titanium metal heated in a vacuum at 1600°C.Titanium DioxideMixed with titanium dioxide hydrogenated at 2000°C or magnesium-reduced at 1000°C, titanium monoxide can be obtained. Titanium monoxide possesses oxygen or titanium vacancy properties, and can be used as electronic materials.
Use: Titanium dioxide can be used as a catalyst in ethylene polymerization reactions, and is also employed in the production of titanate semiconductors, as well as for making light-blocking films and black materials.
