Appendix
A rare earth copper grain refiner for refining grain structure and its production process. The refiner contains 10-15% rare earth metal, 85-90% copper; among the rare earth metals, the content of lanthanum, yttrium, and cerium is 40-100%, 0-60%, and 0-60% respectively. The main characteristics of its production process are: (1) Use No. 1 electrolytic copper for smelting. When the temperature is between 1160-1180°C, add preheated rare earth metals of lanthanum, yttrium, and cerium in the above proportions. Then, degas and slag by adding crushed glass and chlorides, and let it stand. (2) Casting. The rare earth copper materials produced using this refiner exhibit small crystals, dense structure, high conductivity, high softening temperature at high temperatures, high elongation, and high tensile strength.
