Currently, the ATEX and IECEx standards in Europe are almost identical.
A key standard is the EN60079 series, another key standard is IEC60079, obtaining ATEX certification allows for sale in the EU.
Obtaining IECEx certification allows for the sale in member countries of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
