What is Deburring:
Chipping is the process of creating grooves on the finished concrete surface, commonly done after the casting of in-situ slabs in cast-in-place structures to ensure the bonding between layers for the next column and wall casting.
In simple terms, it involves roughening the concrete surface with a drill and then thoroughly washing it to enhance the bonding strength between the concrete and its surroundings.
Section II: The Function of Notching
The purpose of grooving is not only to roughen the surface, but primarily to remove the laitance from the concrete surface, ensuring a dense and strong bond at the junction of new and old concrete. To illustrate with an analogy of a bridge:
1. Piers with broken pile heads, which can also be considered as roughening, aim to remove loose concrete to ensure quality:
Notching at the joint of the two columns is to ensure a strong concrete bond, which can also serve to eliminate the seam.
The top surface of the 3-beam plate is roughened to ensure a strong bond with the paving layer, as the layer is thin and not roughening it could lead to peeling.
Section 3: Applicable Scope:
Concrete product surface roughening for construction joints, precast beams, and rebar modeling, followed by roughening and deburring at the joint edges and areas of different heights.
Specific application scope for enhancing adhesion by cleaning the coating can be inquired with customer service in advance.
