What is Deburring:
Chiseling is the process of creating grooves on the surface of a completed concrete structure. It is typically done after the casting of in-situ slabs in cast-in-place structures to prepare for the next phase of column and wall casting, ensuring a strong bond between the concrete layers.
In simple terms, it involves roughening the concrete surface with a drill and then thoroughly washing it clean, primarily to enhance the bonding strength between the concrete and its surroundings.
Section II: The Function of Deburring
The reason for roughening is not only to make the surface rough, but primarily to remove the laitance from the concrete surface, ensuring that the concrete at the junction of new and old sections is compact and firmly bonded. To illustrate with an analogy of a bridge:
1. The bridge piers have broken pile heads, which can also be considered as roughening. The purpose is to remove loose concrete to ensure quality.
The notching at the junction of the two posts is to ensure a solid bond of the concrete, which also serves to eliminate the seam.
The top surface of the 3-beam deck is roughened to ensure a strong bond with the paving layer, as the layer is thin and not roughening it can easily lead to peeling.
Section 3: Applicable Range:
Concrete products: Surface roughening treatment for construction joints of prefabricated beams and rebated modeling, followed by roughening and cleaning at the seam and varying heights to enhance adhesion. Specific application scope can be inquired with customer service in advance.
