Shenzhen Zhongnuo Testing Technology Co., Ltd. is based in South China and specializes in explosion-proof certification and coal safety certification application consulting services, offering one-stop explosion-proof technology consulting services.
What are the requirements for applying for an explosion-proof certificate for a gas detector?
Gas detectors are a common type of explosion-proof product, including intrinsically safe, flameproof, and flameproof and intrinsically safe types, among others.
The type of explosion-proof design to adopt depends on the product's structure, installation method, and usage location, among other factors.
Portable and handheld models are recommended to obtain intrinsic safety explosion-proof certificates; they are quite lightweight.
Additionally, if used in Zone 0, the gas detector can only be intrinsically safe IA explosion-proof level.
For intrinsically safe models, consider intrinsic circuit design, shell material, battery temperature rise tests, etc.
Fixed-type options can be made into explosion-proof models. Explosion-proof products tend to be heavier, mainly achieving explosion prevention through the explosion-proof shell.
Even if internal components generate sparks, the explosion can be blocked from spreading due to the explosion-proof housing's function.
On the other hand, the housing can also prevent external explosion sparks from entering the interior of the equipment.
Of course, some gas detectors simply cannot achieve explosion-proof performance with only intrinsic safety or explosion-proof design.
Consider explosion-proof and intrinsically safe composite explosion-proof types at this point.
ZhongNuo Inspection has obtained domestic and international explosion-proof certifications for gas detectors, alarms, transmitters, and other measuring instruments for our clients.

Does a product with an explosion-proof certificate still need a coal safety certificate?
The explosion-proof certificate and the coal safety certificate are applicable to different locations.
Explosion-proof certificates generally refer to facilities used in environments with explosive gases and dust, excluding coal mine shafts.
Coal Mine Safety Certificate refers to the safety certification mark for equipment and products used in underground coal mines.
So, whether to apply for a防爆 certificate or a煤安 certificate depends on where the product is used. If it's only used in explosive gas and dust places that are not in coal mines, a防爆 certificate is sufficient. However, if it's also used underground in coal mines, a煤安 certificate is mandatory; the two are mutually exclusive.

Sample requirements for explosion-proof certification application:
The sample machines submitted by the company for inspection must match the approved drawings and be fully assembled; the number of units inspected should meet the requirements.
If special disassembly tools are required, they should be sent along as well.
For potting-type electrical equipment, a set of both potted and unpotted products should be submitted.
Observing window transparent pieces should be sent separately with at least 3, but no more than 5.
Transparencies for lighting fixtures should be sent separately in an additional 8 pieces, with at least 5.
Provide 3 to 5 pieces of 35156 rubber blocks for the rubber aging test.
Two plastic sheets with a diameter of 15060 mm must be provided for the insulation resistance test of the plastic housing. If the dimensions allow, the test can be directly performed on the plastic housing.
1-2 finished products are generally required.
