Fiberglass Storage Tank Performance Features
Physical Properties: The specific gravity of glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP) is typically 1.8-2.1, which is 1/4-1/5 that of steel, and its specific strength is higher than that of steel, cast iron, and plastic. The coefficient of thermal expansion of GFRP is roughly equivalent to that of steel, while its thermal conductivity is only 0.5% of steel's.
Fiberglass storage tanks possess the following characteristics:
1. Lightweight and High-Strength: With a relative density between 1.5~2.0, it is only 1/4~1/5 that of carbon steel, yet its tensile strength is close to, and even exceeds, carbon steel. Its strength-to-weight ratio can rival that of high-grade alloy steel.
2. Excellent Corrosion Resistance: Offers good resistance to atmospheric conditions, water, and general concentrations of acids, bases, salts, as well as various oils and solvents.
3. Excellent electrical properties: Suitable for manufacturing insulators.
4. Excellent thermal performance: The thermal conductivity of glass fiber reinforced plastic is low, at 1.25~1.67 kJ/(m·h·K) at room temperature, which is only 1/100 to 1/1000 of that of metal, making it an excellent insulating material.
5. Superior工艺:Adaptable to flexible molding processes based on product shape, technical requirements, and usage; simple in design, enabling one-step molding and pronounced economic benefits.
