Physical Properties: The specific gravity of glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP) is typically 1.8-2.1, which is 1/4 to 1/5 of steel, and it has a higher specific strength than steel, cast iron, and plastic. The coefficient of thermal expansion of GFRP is roughly equivalent to that of steel, while its thermal conductivity is only 0.5% of steel's.
Fiberglass storage tanks possess the following characteristics:
1. Lightweight and High-Strength: With a relative density between 1.5~2.0, it is only 1/4~1/5 of carbon steel, yet its tensile strength is close to, or even exceeds, carbon steel, and its specific strength can rival that of high-grade alloy steel.
2. Excellent Corrosion Resistance: Resists atmospheric conditions, water, and general concentrations of acids, bases, salts, as well as various oils and solvents.

4. Excellent thermal properties: Glass fiber has a low thermal conductivity, ranging from 1.25 to 1.67 kJ/(m·h·K) at room temperature, which is only 1/100 to 1/1000 of that of metals, making it an excellent insulating material.
