Fiberglass Storage Tank Performance Features
Physical Properties: The specific gravity of glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP) is typically 1.8-2.1, which is 1/4-1/5 of steel, and has a higher specific strength than steel, cast iron, and plastics. The coefficient of thermal expansion of GFRP is roughly equivalent to that of steel, while its thermal conductivity is only 0.5% of steel's.
Fiberglass storage tanks feature the following characteristics:
1. Lightweight and High-Strength: With a relative density between 1.5~2.0, it is only 1/4~1/5 of carbon steel, yet its tensile strength is close to, and even exceeds, carbon steel. Its specific strength can be compared to that of high-grade alloy steel.
2. Excellent Corrosion Resistance: Offers good resistance to atmospheric conditions, water, and general concentrations of acids, bases, salts, as well as various oils and solvents.
3. Excellent electrical properties: Suitable for manufacturing insulators.
4. Excellent thermal performance: Glass fiber has a low thermal conductivity of 1.25~1.67 kJ/(m·h·K) at room temperature, which is only 1/100~1/1000 of metal, making it an excellent thermal insulation material.
5. Superior工艺Performance: Allows flexible selection of molding processes based on product shape, technical requirements, and application; Simple process for one-time molding, with significant economic benefits.
