Steel slag, a waste material discharged after steelmaking, primarily refers to the slag produced by open hearth and converter processes. Stored for over a year, it typically appears gray-brown and is quite hard. By using aged steel slag as aggregate, it can be reasonably graded to form steel slag concrete, commonly used for weight compensation in building cores and as anti-floating weight in areas with high water levels.
