There are two types of cast iron gates: square and round. Cast iron gates typically consist of a gate body and a frame, both made of cast iron. The gate leaf and frame are usually cast separately. The complete gate body is often structured with a panel and reinforcing ribs; the panel can be flat or arched. The gate body is generally cast and machined as a whole, but larger sizes can be divided into sections. An integral metal or bronze sealing strip is commonly used as the support slider, with a bronze sealing strip fastened to the gate body using the same material's countersunk screws, and the screw head completes the water-tight working surface.

Ductile iron sluice gates offer excellent corrosion resistance. They are formed in a single installation process and have lower maintenance costs compared to other types of gates. Ductile iron gates are typically used in combination with small screw actuators and other lifting devices. After long-term use, wear may occur, but we can adjust the water-stop module to ensure the gate continues to operate normally. Compared to steel gates, ductile iron gates have a simpler structure and can withstand greater water pressure. Due to their lower manufacturing costs, ductile iron gates are suitable for smaller waterways. In contrast, steel gates are larger and are only used in large waterways. The use of ductile iron gates addresses issues such as heavy workload, high labor intensity, high costs, and poor water-sealing performance in the production of gates.
