Description

Shenzhen ZhongNuo Testing Technology Co., Ltd. specializes in the certification, calibration, and metrological services for gas alarms, flammable gas detectors, toxic and harmful gas detectors, and other equipment in various locations. We have qualifications to serve nationwide, addressing all types of electrical safety and explosion-proof fire prevention issues for our clients, and contributing to safe production.
Key Technical Requirements for Regular Calibration of Combustible Gas Detectors (Shenzhen Zhongnuo Testing Technology Co., Ltd.)
1. Self-check function upon startup: The instrument should have an automatic self-check feature upon startup, with manual self-check capabilities for alarm components.
2. Specify the effective detection distance: The effective detection distance of the non-contact gas alarm instrument shall not be less than 20 m.
3. Alarm Value Setting: The standard specifies specific alarm value settings for different gases.
For example, the oxygen deficiency alarm setting is 19.5% VOL, and the oxygen-rich alarm setting is 23.5% VOL (refer to GB 8958-2006 "Operation Procedures for Oxygen Deficiency Hazardous Operations" and GB 30871-2022 "Special Operation Regulations for Hazardous Chemical Enterprises").
The first-level flammable gas alarm setting should not exceed 25% LEL, and the second-level alarm setting should not exceed 50% LEL.
The first and second-level alarm settings for toxic and harmful gases are determined based on the OEL (Occupational Exposure Limit) or IDLH (Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health).
4. Error and Repetition: The standard specifies clear requirements for the instrument's indication error, drift, and repeatability. For example, the indication error for combustible gases, toxic and harmful gases, and oxygen should not exceed 5% FS, 5% FS, and 2% FS respectively within the normal test range of the instrument's full scale.
5. Calibration and Interface: The instrument should be easy to calibrate, with established calibration procedures and corresponding interfaces to ensure the accuracy of its measurement results.
6. Explosion-proof Performance: Instruments used in explosive environments should possess explosion-proof performance in compliance with relevant regulations and obtain an explosion-proof certification.
7. Audio-Visual Alarm Devices: The audio-visual alarm devices of the alarm should meet specific visibility and sound pressure level requirements to ensure effective alerting of staff during emergencies.
8. Output Control Function: Instruments with output control capabilities should be able to activate the output control function upon emitting an alarm signal, such as cutting off power supply or initiating an exhaust system, etc.
9. Power Requirements: Specific requirements are outlined for the supply voltage, continuous operating time, etc., for both battery-powered and non-battery-powered instruments.
10. Other Performance Requirements: Including requirements for azimuth, response time, full-scale indication error, high-speed airflow, long-term stability, insulation withstand voltage performance, temperature, constant humidity and heat, electromagnetic interference resistance, steam interference resistance, vibration and drop, and functionality.

Gas Detector Alarm Calibration Specification Requirements
Regulation 5.5 of the "Regulation for Inspection and Verification of Combustible Gas Detectors" (JJG693-2011) stipulates: The inspection period for combustible gas detection and alarm instruments: The inspection period for the instrument generally should not exceed one year. If there is any doubt about the instrument's measurement data, or if the instrument has been replaced with major components or repaired, it should be sent for inspection promptly.
Section 3.5 of "Regulations for the Use of Combustible Gas Detection and Alarm Devices" (SY6503-2000) stipulates: The combustible gas detection and alarm devices in use shall be calibrated regularly as required.
Occupational Health Service Unit (GBZ/T223-2009) Article 7.2.1 stipulates: Calibration of detection and alarm devices should be carried out regularly according to the manufacturer's specified time and procedures.
Regulation 3.4 of "Code for the Use of Combustible Gas Detectors and Alarms" (SY6503-2000) stipulates that the installation and use of combustible gas detectors and alarms should have measurement instruments manufactured by an authorized institution with recognized **manufacturing** and **explosion-proof** performance.

Gaseous Alarm Detector Calibration Conditions and Requirements
Environmental Conditions
Ambient Temperature: 0~40℃.
2. Relative Humidity: ≤85%
3. The working environment should not interfere with the normal operation of the instrument through electromagnetic fields and interfering gases.
Calibration Tools and Instruments
1) Certified Reference Material for Gases
The relative expanded uncertainty of the gas standard substance does not exceed 2% (k=2).
2) Standard Gas Dilution Unit: Dilution Error of 1%.
3) Stopwatch: Graduation not greater than 0.1s.
4) Flow Control: Flow range not less than 500 mL/min, flow grade not less than 4.
5) Zero Point Gas: Purified compressed air.
6) Pressure Reducing Valve: A pressure reducing valve that matches with the calibrated cylinder.
7) Gas Pipeline: Tubing made of materials like polytetrafluoroethylene or stainless steel that do not affect the concentration of the tested gas.
