What is the IECEx certificate application process? -- Shenzhen Zhongnuo Testing Technology Co., Ltd.
Members of the ECEx system, whose certification bodies are recognized and authorized by the IECEx system, are referred to as IECEx Accepted Application Bodies (IECEx Certification Body, abbreviated as ExCB). Only ExCBs are authorized to conduct explosion protection product certification within the IECEx system.
ExCB is primarily responsible for the following certification tasks:
1. Accept IECEx certification applications.
2. Organize Explosion Proof Testing Laboratory (ExTL) to conduct explosion proof type testing for the certified products (including explosion proof review of technical drawings and documents, as well as sample machine testing).
3. Review Explosion-Proof Report (ExTR)
4. Conduct factory quality condition inspections for manufacturers applying for certification and compile and review the Factory Quality Condition Report (QAR).
5. Make the decision on certification.
6. Contact the IECEx Secretariat for issuance of IECEx certification.
7. Conduct annual supervision for manufacturers already holding an IECEx certification.
IECEx certification utilizes a certification method that includes Type Testing (Product Testing) + Factory Quality System Inspection + Post-Certification Supervision.
The entire IECEx certification process spans from providing documentation, sample preparation, product testing, factory audit, to issuance of the certificate.
ATEX certification applies to which regions? -- Shenzhen Zhongnuo Testing Technology Co., Ltd.
ATEX is the abbreviation for "Atmospheres Explosibles" in French, meaning "Explosive Atmosphere."
It is a防爆 directive within the EU's CE marking, effective as of July 1, 2003.
All equipment and protective systems entering the EU market and used in explosive environments.
The product must comply with the ATEX (94/9/EC) Directive, which is a mandatory certification for the EU market. The directive has been updated to 2014/EU/34.
ATEX certification is the mandatory certification for explosion-proof electrical products in the European market.
The scope of this directive covers equipment used in fixed offshore platforms, petrochemical plants, flour mills, and other facilities where explosive environments may be present. An estimated €3 billion worth of such equipment is procured in the European market each year.
Products with ATEX certification enjoy greater customer trust and market recognition in the EU, enhancing the company's credibility and the international competitiveness of the product.
Can IECEx certification be converted to a domestic explosion-proof certificate?
As IEC member states, countries such as Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore have already accepted the IECEx explosion-proof certification.
Products with IECEx explosion-proof certification do not require the application of that country's explosion-proof certification for these exports.
China, also a member of IEC, but explosion-proof products in China require an application for the Chinese explosion-proof certification or coal safety certification.
This cannot be directly substituted with IECEx.
