This method is applicable to pipeline maintenance and various non-standard pipe components such as valves, flanges, tanks, tees, towers, cylinders, piles, etc.
1. Surface Rust Removal
Scrape off loose rust and paint from the workpiece surface using a wire brush. For specific areas, selectively use powered tools to remove rust, old paint, and foreign matter.
2. Apply complementary primer coating
1. Bottom paint can be applied by hand, brush, wearing gloves, or using a roller.
2. Apply a thin layer of primer evenly on the surface of the workpiece to be wrapped with tape.
3. Apply more primer to the holes, shoulder angles, gaps, and pipe threads of the workpieces.
4. For some narrow threads and gaps, it's appropriate to use a brush for application.
