Xuzhou Jinshuai Mining Equipment Co., Ltd. is a high-tech enterprise specializing in the production of belt conveyor belt protection products. Our independently developed and produced products include: DDZ-40 type wedge-type mechanical belt catcher, DDZ(B)-500 type full cross-section mechanical belt catcher, ZDB-400 type hydraulic belt protection device, and DDZ(B)-500 type belt catcher. They operate using a passive power source, avoiding the drawbacks of hydraulic leaks and electrical interference. The braking frame is installed independently of the conveyor, preventing secondary damage to the conveyor frame during braking. When the belt is running in the forward direction, the device is in a protective state and the equipment is inactive. If the belt breaks, the belt tension disappears, causing the belt to start running in reverse. The detection wheel also reverses, driving the unlocking mechanism to open the locking mechanism. Simultaneously, the conveyor's driving power is cut off, and an audible and visual alarm is emitted, putting the equipment in an active start-up state.

1.1 Application and Scope

Our DDZ(B)-500 type passive full cross-section belt conveyor's belt break protection device (hereinafter referred to as the "protection device") is developed in accordance with the requirements of relevant documents such as the National安全生产监督管理局, the National Coal Mine Safety Supervision and Inspection Bureau, and the China Coal Industry Association, particularly in Article 375 of the "Coal Safety Regulations" and the "Coal Mine Safety Quality Standardization Standards and Rating Methods (Trial)" regarding electrical and mechanical safety: "Wire rope core belt conveyors should be equipped with a belt break protection device." Based on extensive field investigations of belt break incidents, thorough summarization and analysis of the causes, and incorporating the performance characteristics of existing belt break protection devices domestically and internationally, we have developed this product with the principles of high safety, strong practicality, flexible and convenient installation, and minimal maintenance requirements. It is a self-developed and designed generation of products, with complete intellectual property rights.

Widely used on both strong and standard conveyor belts for belt conveyors, especially on large inclined-angle, long-distance, and high-capacity belt conveyors in coal mine underground.

Based on the tape's sliding distance, combined with the tape's tension, it serves as a scientific, safe, and reliable basis for determining if a break has occurred.

The braking method employs full-section surface contact, lifting and flattening the V-belt via the lower braking beam, and the upper braking beam rapidly rotates to flatten the belt, holding it between the upper and lower braking beams. As the belt slides down, the friction between the upper and lower beams and the belt's top and bottom surfaces increases, gradually stopping the descending belt without damaging it, ensuring safety.

The cleaning method is quite reasonable: during the quick lifting and flattening of the troughed belt by the lower braking beam, the materials on the belt are scattered out. Simultaneously, while the upper braking beam quickly rotates towards the belt, the remaining materials on the belt surface are swept clean.

The braking frame is installed separately from the conveyor, preventing secondary damage to the conveyor frame during braking.

The entire frame is designed in a modular configuration, assembled with high-tensile bolts for flexible and convenient installation and transportation underground. 1.2 The protective device is suitable for the following working conditions:

2. Structural Characteristics and Working Principle of the Protection Device

2.1 Structural Features of Protection Device

The pure mechanical belt protection device produced by Xuzhou Jinshuai Mining Equipment Co., Ltd. is mainly composed of: upper braking beam, lower braking beam, central braking mechanism, upper and lower gripping surfaces, upper and lower detection mechanisms, unlocking mechanism, locking mechanism, frame, counterweight blocks, etc.

The inspection wheel of the testing agency is always pressed against the bottom of the adhesive tape under the force of the spring.

When the tape is running forward, the detection wheel also rotates forward, the unlocking mechanism is in a protective state, and the device is not operational.

If the tape breaks, the tape tension will be visibly reduced, causing the tape to reverse. The detection wheel will also reverse, actuating the unlocking mechanism to open the locking device, simultaneously cutting off the conveyor's power supply and triggering an audible and visual alarm. The equipment is in the startup state: the central braking mechanism, under the influence of counterweight force, drives the upper braking beam to rotate around the upper rotating axis, clamping the upper and lower tapes between the upper and lower braking beams and the central braking mechanism. The strong frictional braking force between the upper and lower surfaces of the tape and the upper and lower braking beams with the central braking mechanism gradually stops the descending tape.

If the tape's angle and tension are too great and it breaks, flies up, and swings down to touch the upper detection mechanism of the equipment, the device will still operate normally and clamp the tape between the upper and lower gripping surfaces. This achieves the goal of reducing economic losses and social impact.
