20# Seamless Steel Pipe is made of 20# steel, with slightly higher strength than No. 15 steel, rarely quenched, and free of temper brittleness. It has high cold deformation plasticity and is generally used for bending, rolling, flanging, and forging processes. The 20# Seamless Steel Pipe has good welding properties for electric arc welding and contact welding, but is prone to cracking on thin-walled or strictly shaped components during gas welding. Its machinability is better in cold drawn or normalized states compared to annealed states, and is generally used for manufacturing parts that are not heavily loaded but require high toughness. 20g Seamless Steel Pipe is a long strip of steel with a hollow cross-section and no seams around the edges. It has a hollow cross-section and is widely used as pipeline for conveying fluids such as oil, gas, water, and certain solid materials. There are both 20# and 20g steel types. Besides having the same carbon content, 20g steel contains some trace elements that make it more suitable for use in boilers and pressure vessels. Additionally, 20g steel is also evaluated for its physical properties, such as bending, impact, and tensile strength.
ASTM A53 seamless steel pipes refer to foreign standard pipe grades, also known as American standard grades. A53-F corresponds to China's q235 material, A53-A corresponds to China's 10# material, and A53-B corresponds to China's 20# material. Hot-rolled steel pipes are delivered in a hot-rolled or heat-treated condition; the production process of hot-rolled seamless steel pipes: billet → heating → piercing → three-roller oblique rolling, continuous rolling → descaling → sizing → cooling → straightening → hydrostatic testing → marking → storage. The production process of cold drawn seamless steel pipes: billet → heating → piercing → heading → annealing → pickling → oiling → multi-pass cold drawing → billet pipe → heat treatment → straightening → hydrostatic testing → marking → storage. In terms of wall thickness, cold drawn seamless steel pipes are more uniform than hot-rolled seamless steel pipes, and have better surface roughness. Applications of ASTM A53 seamless steel pipes: 1. Construction: underground pipeline transportation, groundwater extraction during building, boiler hot water transportation, etc. 2. Mechanical processing, bearing sleeves, processing machinery accessories, etc. 3. Electrical: gas transmission, hydropower fluid pipelines. 4. Anti-static pipes for wind power plants, etc.
