Electromagnetic ultrasonic testing is a novel ultrasonic detection method different from traditional piezoelectric ultrasonic. Although both fall under the category of ultrasound, their fundamental difference lies in the transducer. Piezoelectric ultrasonic transducers emit and receive ultrasonic waves through the piezoelectric effect of piezoelectric crystals. In contrast, electromagnetic ultrasonic relies on electromagnetic effects to emit and receive ultrasonic waves. The energy conversion is directly performed in the skin layer of the workpiece surface, thus eliminating the need for a coupling medium and contact with the workpiece, making it suitable for automatic testing under rapid and high-temperature conditions.
