The outermost skin of the project is self-supporting.UHPC componentsManufactured in the form of hollow panels, the 3 different types of sections combine into an ever-changing pattern. The pedestrian bridge connecting Château Saint-Jean to the museum is assembled from 25 precast panels, each unit measuring 4.6 meters in length, with precast panels thickness of 4 centimeters, for a total length of 115 meters (with the loop, it is 135 meters). The construction tolerance is between 0.3 and 0.4 millimeters.
Upon close inspection, it becomes evident that UHPC allows for exceptionally high levels of perforation on the surface facade, even accommodating any desired pattern. This is something that is challenging to achieve with traditional materials, whether wood, metal, or other products.
