These organic substances are characterized by their difficulty in degradation, high toxicity, and volatility, necessitating removal methods. Among them, activated carbon adsorption is a commonly used technique. Activated carbon has a large specific surface area and pore volume, making it effective in adsorbing organic matter. Additionally, biological treatment technologies such as aeration biological filter pools, biological contact oxidation pools, and reactors can be employed to degrade organic matter through microbial action.
