Product Overview
Lead-acid batteries are often referred to as the "blood" of the DC power system, serving as a defense line for the normal operation of equipment. The lifespan of lead-acid batteries is affected by factors such as environment, temperature, float voltage, ripple, charging method, and maintenance. Over time, battery packs may experience insufficient capacity, with individual batteries showing changes such as reduced capacity, high internal resistance, or abnormal terminal voltages. Additionally, some batteries might be damaged by external forces, connection stresses, or cracked casings. This necessitates isolating and replacing individual batteries from the system.
If there are two battery packs, the system can be paralleled. You can remove the faulty battery pack from the system for operation and directly replace the faulty battery. In the case of a single battery pack, the battery pack cannot be opened circuit or short-circuited, making the replacement process of the faulty battery pack extremely difficult. Common methods include: 1) Running with the fault until the power outage for maintenance and replacement; 2) Replacing the faulty battery by paralleling with a similar battery; 3) Using diodes.
Due to the battery being in a float charge standby state, over time, it can lead to degradation of battery performance, which in turn reduces the reliability of the DC power system operation. Therefore, regular testing, maintenance, or replacement of the battery is highly necessary.
Product Function and Purpose
Currently, in China, replacing failed batteries typically involves disconnecting the DC power supply, connecting a spare battery to the charger, and then removing the battery to be replaced, which significantly reduces the replacement speed and affects the safety of the DC system's operation. In response to this, Wuhan Xinhuafu Electric Power Equipment Co., Ltd. has developed an online battery replacement bypass unit - the ED0620 Battery Bypass Unit, which allows for battery replacement without power interruption.
The ED0620 type battery interconnect can be used in the following three states:
1. Do not disconnect the battery bank from the charger. Directly replace the faulty battery while the battery bank is in float charge mode.
During the replacement process, if the power is cut off at the charger's input or the charger malfunctions, the faulty battery can be directly replaced.
3. During the replacement process, if a high-power reclosing device is activated, the faulty battery can be directly replaced.
Product Features
1. The ED0620 type battery interconnect uses passive detection technology, achieving the requirement of simultaneous voltage monitoring and current conversion through the quick recovery principle.
2. The ED0620 battery interconnect device features alarm functions such as bus voltage lower than battery pack voltage and deep discharge alarm.
3. The ED0620 battery isolator features an auxiliary bypass switch, ensuring safe and reliable use with simple operation. After switching, it allows the main and control buses to be powered by the charger, achieving isolation of the battery bank only, without detaching the battery from the DC system, thus guaranteeing safety during battery bank maintenance.
4. The ED0620 battery interconnect kit is versatile, capable of simultaneously accommodating all battery banks below 500VDC.
5. Utilizes advanced high-power switching elements and surge absorption circuits to ensure operation under closing surge load, with the maximum operating current reaching 200A.
6. Fully insulated design, compact and lightweight, easy to carry.
7. The ED0620 battery jumper can be used for the maintenance of a single battery set, featuring bypass and backup auto-switching functions, significantly enhancing the safety of DC maintenance.
8. The Battery Jumper does not require any adjustment of the charger's operating parameters.
