
Product Description
The TPXB-D type tuning-sensitive variable-frequency series resonance voltage-withstanding device is primarily designed and manufactured for the AC voltage withstand tests of 11kV/30MW hydro-turbine generators. The reactors are designed in two separate units.
The TPXB-D type tuning-sensitive variable-frequency series resonant voltage withstand device is mainly composed of a variable-frequency control power supply, excitation transformer, reactor, and capacitor voltage divider.
Advantages of the TPXB-D type tunable resonant voltage withstand device in its application within the power system:
1. The required power capacity is significantly reduced. Series resonant power supplies utilize resonant reactors and the tested item's capacitive resonance to generate high voltage and current. Throughout the system, the power supply only needs to provide the active power consumption part. Therefore, the power required for the test is only 1/Q of the test capacity.
2. The weight and volume of the equipment are significantly reduced. In series resonance power supplies, not only are the bulky high-power voltage regulators and standard high-power power frequency test transformers eliminated, but the resonant excitation power supply also requires only 1/Q of the test capacity, leading to a substantial reduction in system weight and volume, typically to 1/10-1/30 of a standard test device.
3. Improve the output voltage waveform. The resonant power supply is a resonant filter circuit that can reduce waveform distortion in the output voltage, achieving a good sine wave. It effectively prevents the harmonic peaks from causing false breakdown in the test items.
4. Prevent large short-circuit currents from burning fault points. In series resonance, when the insulation weakness of the test item is punctured, the circuit immediately detunes, and the circuit current rapidly drops to 1/Q of the normal test current. In contrast, during withstand voltage tests using parallel resonance or a test transformer, the puncture current immediately rises several times. Compared to this, the difference between short-circuit current and puncture current is several hundred times. Therefore, series resonance can effectively locate insulation weaknesses without the concern of large short-circuit currents causing burn faults.
5. No voltage recovery will occur. When the sample is punctured, the high voltage immediately disappears due to the loss of resonance conditions, and the arc is instantly extinguished. The process of re-establishing the voltage is lengthy, making it easy to disconnect the power source before reaching the flashover voltage again. This voltage recovery process is an intermittent oscillation of energy accumulation, with a long duration and no overvoltage recovery.

1. The device is equipped with overpressure, overcurrent, zero-position start, and system detuning (drop-out) protection functions. The overpressure and overcurrent protection values can be set according to user requirements. It can initiate drop-out protection during sample drop-out and record the drop-out voltage value for testing analysis.
2. The entire unit is extremely lightweight, with individual pieces weighing no more than 40kg, making it convenient for on-site use.
3. The device features four operating modes for flexible selection based on the on-site conditions, enhancing the testing speed. The operating modes include: Full Automatic Mode, Manual Mode, Automatic Tuning with Manual Voltage Increase Mode.
4. Capable of storing and printing data remotely; the stored data is numbered for easy identification and retrieval by users.
5. The device allows for arbitrary setting of the frequency starting point within the specified range during automatic sweep tuning. The sweep direction can be selected to be upward or downward. Additionally, a large LCD screen displays the scan curve, facilitating users in intuitively determining if a resonant point has been found.
6. Utilizes DSP platform technology, allowing for easy addition or removal of features and upgrades based on user needs, also making the human-machine interaction interface more user-friendly.
