Product Introduction
Road Crack Sealing Tape, also known as "Joint Tape" or "Stress Absorption Tape," is made from matrix asphalt, SBS, and high molecular weight rubber-plastic modified materials. It uniformly disperses high polymers like SBS in the asphalt through methods such as shearing and stirring, forming a SBS blended material. This material is then coated onto a fiber fabric or felt substrate using powder, granular, sheet, or film materials. The tape is approximately 3-15cm wide and is primarily used to treat various types of road cracks. It is applied by peeling off the release paper and directly laying it over the road cracks. It not only seals the cracks but also prevents the expansion of cracks, effectively guards against water seepage that could damage the underlying layers and subgrade, and extends the service life of the road.
Product Features
This seam tape is not only easy to operate, similar to the usage of "Band-Aids" for wounds, just stick it on; but also offers quick application, without the need for slotting the cracks or heating the grouting material, nor the use of specialized machinery. Simply clean the cracks, and you can proceed with the application. It also boasts reliable quality, beauty, and durability, overcoming the edge chipping issue that often occurs after slotting and grouting. The cracks repaired with this seam tape are even, vertical, with neat edges, and aesthetically pleasing.
Product Categories
Single-sided adhesive geomembrane tape: One side is adhesive, the other side is woven geotextile or woven fabric.
Double-Sided Adhesive Tape: Tape with adhesiveness on both sides and a protective film on the surface.
◎ Flexible Corner Seaming Tape: No backing, excellent road adhesion, allows for easy corner turns, can adjust to crack direction at any time, saves time and effort.
Surface bonding tape: Used for road crack repair, wear-resistant, waterproof, and excellent corrosion prevention.
Primary Advantages
Easy to operate – Peel and stick firmly
Surface course sealing strips for road surfaces can be laid simply after sweeping, eliminating the need for traditional hot asphalt sealing equipment.
The construction speed is several times faster than that of traditional methods.
Due to the easy operation of the seam tape, it significantly boosts efficiency compared to traditional crack treatment processes.
Reliable quality and aesthetically pleasing durability
Using a road joint tape ensures the seam remains undamaged and non-cracking, not picked up by wheels, effectively preventing the spread of surface cracks, and overcoming the edge-chewing phenomenon after slotting and filling.
Safe and environmentally friendly, non-toxic and non-side effects for construction workers
Construction technique
Material Selection: Choose the specifications of the standard temperature and frost-resistant seam tape based on the width of the road cracks, usually available in 8cm, 10cm, 12cm, and 15cm sizes.
◎Cleanliness: Use an electric brush and hair dryer to clean the selected cracks or joints using seam tape. The crack surface must be smooth, with no large bumps, dents, loose debris, stones, oil stains, grease, or other dirt. If there are large holes, they must be filled. (For cracks wider than 5mm, high molecular weight sealant should be injected first.)
◎Seam Adhesion: Remove the backing paper from the seam tape, ensuring the non-adhesive side is up. Center the tape over the crack, and apply it smoothly to the road surface. In the northeast and northwest regions, where temperatures are below 15°C, apply glue or a mixture of diesel and gasoline (1:1 ratio) to both sides of the crack first, then proceed with the tape application.
◎Cutting: In case of irregular cracks (joints), use a pair of scissors or a craft knife to cut the seam tape, and follow the direction of the crack (joint) for application. However, at the junction of two pieces of seam tape, ensure an overlap of 80-100mm.
◎Rolling: Use a roller to press the seam tape firmly onto the ground, ensuring the tape is bonded with the surface. No bubbles or creases allowed.
Sealed: After the construction of the seam tape is completed, try to protect the finished road surface to prevent surface contamination and damage to the seam tape.
Traffic will be open within 7 to 10 minutes.
Structure and Features
The main structure of the surface joint tape consists of four layers, from bottom to top:
High-adhesion material layer
High-elastic polyester layer
High molecular elasticity material layer
◎ Tear-resistant imported non-woven fabric or flexible polyethylene layer.
The four layers serve distinct functions, combined through a special process. The first layer provides excellent adhesion, preventing water from seeping in between the material and the road surface. The second layer acts as a framework and elastic recovery when the cracks change width due to temperature fluctuations, akin to the steel wire in hollow slabs, yet this layer also possesses elasticity. The third layer is a high polymer material, offering excellent high and low temperature properties as well as good elasticity, making it the primary functional layer. The fourth layer, as per customer requirements, features a surface cover of hot-rolled fabric, which reduces the decrease in road friction coefficient caused by seam bonding and also stabilizes the material against displacement or wear from wheel friction.
