Spray Tower, also known as a washing tower, water wash tower, purification tower, or desulfurization tower, is a commonly used equipment in gas-liquid reaction systems. It allows for countercurrent contact between waste gases and liquids, achieving purification, dust removal, and cooling through washing. Currently, it is widely used in industrial acid and alkali waste gas treatment. The acid and alkali waste gas treatment towers are available in single-body and double-body designs. They are constructed with circular towers connected by flanges. They consist of a storage tank, tower body, inlet section, spray layer, packing layer, swirl dedusting layer, outlet cone cap, and inspection holes.
The operating principle of the spray tower:
The spray tower primarily operates by continuously introducing acidic mist waste gas into the purification tower through a duct, where it passes through a packing layer. The waste gas is then fully contacted and absorbed by a sodium hydroxide absorbent liquid in a two-phase process, undergoing neutralization reactions. After purification, the acidic mist waste gas is further dehumidified and demisted by a mist removal plate before being exhausted into the atmosphere by a fan. The absorbent liquid is pumped and pressurized at the bottom of the tower, then sprayed down from the top and recirculated back to the bottom for reuse. The purified acidic mist waste gas meets the emission requirements of the Guangdong Province's local standards, which are lower than the emission standards.
Here is the process flow for the waste gas treatment project: Acid mist waste gas discharged → enters the duct → passes through the acid and alkali waste gas treatment tower → fan → duct → meets emission standards.
