The filter material used in bag dust collectors is typically made of woven or felted synthetic fibers, fibers, or glass fibers. The fabric or felt is then sewn into cylindrical or flat dust filter bags based on requirements. Filter materials suitable for specific application conditions are chosen based on the properties of the gas. Generally, for gas temperatures below 120°C and where acid and durability are required, polyester plush and polyester are commonly used. For treating high-temperature gases (<250°C), graphitized glass fiber fabric is mainly selected. In certain cases, carbon fiber filter materials are used, among others.

During the daily operation of the bag dust collector equipment, changes in operating conditions or the occurrence of certain malfunctions can affect the normal operation and performance of the equipment. Each ventilation and dust removal system must be equipped with and have testing instruments installed, which should be regularly measured during daily operation and accurately recorded. This allows for judgments to be made based on the system's pressure difference, the temperatures of the incoming and outgoing gases, the voltage and current of the main motor, and other numerical values and changes, ensuring timely fault diagnosis and maintenance for normal operation.
Issues identified through records include: the operation of the dust removal mechanism, the condition of the filter bags (such as damage, clogging, and糊袋 issues), as well as changes in the system air volume.
2. Fluid Resistance
U-tube differential pressure gauges can be used to assess operational conditions: an increase in differential pressure indicates clogging of the filter bag, condensation of moisture on the filter bag, failure of the cleaning mechanism, excessive accumulation of ash in the ash hopper leading to filter bag blockage, or increased gas flow. Conversely, a decrease in differential pressure suggests damage or loosening of the filter bag, blockage of the intake side pipeline or valve closure. Leaks between the housing or individual compartments, or a decrease in fan speed, are also indicated.

When handling combustible gases or high-temperature gases, there is often incomplete combustion dust, sparks, and flammable gases entering the system. Some dust has the property of spontaneous combustion or is electrically charged. Additionally, the majority of filter material is flammable and easily generates static electricity through friction. Under such operating conditions, there is a risk of combustion and accidents, which can have severe consequences. It is essential to consider fire prevention and explosion-proof measures, such as:
1) Install a combustion chamber or a spark arrester in front of the dust collector to ensure the complete combustion of unburned dust and gases or to capture the sparks.
2) Implement measures to prevent static charge buildup, such as grounding all parts with conductive materials or adding conductive fibers during the filter material manufacturing process.
3) Prevent the accumulation or buildup of dust to avoid spontaneous combustion.
4) Ventilation and air exchange must be conducted before individuals enter the bag room or pipeline for inspection or maintenance.
