Spray Tower, also known as a washing tower, water wash tower, purification tower, or desulfurization tower, is a commonly used equipment in gas-liquid reaction systems. It allows for countercurrent contact between waste gas and liquid, achieving purification, dust removal, and cooling through washing. Currently, it is widely used in industrial acid and alkali waste gas treatment. Acid and alkali waste gas treatment towers are available in single and double tower configurations. They are constructed with circular towers connected by flanges. They consist of a storage tank, tower body, inlet section, spray layer, packing layer, swirl mist removal layer, outlet cone cap, and inspection holes, among other components.
Operation Principle of Spray Tower:
The spray tower primarily operates by continuously introducing acidic mist waste gas through a duct into the purification tower, where it passes through a filling layer. The waste gas then undergoes a thorough absorption and neutralization reaction by contacting a sodium hydroxide absorbent liquid in a two-phase process. After purification, the acidic mist waste gas is further dehumidified and demisted by passing through a defogging plate before being exhausted into the atmosphere by a fan. The absorbent liquid is pressurized by a pump at the bottom of the tower and sprayed down from the top, where it returns to the bottom for recirculation. The purified acidic mist waste gas meets the emission requirements of the Guangdong Province local standards, being below the emission standards.
The following is the process flow of the waste gas treatment project: acidic mist waste gas discharged → enters the duct → passes through the acid and alkali waste gas treatment tower → fan → duct → meets emission standards.
