The decorative finish paint on the ironwork railing boasts a rich variety, predominantly hand-painted with imported paint, offering both a rustic and elegant charm as well as a trendy and modern appeal. Classic surface finishes include antique bronze, red antique bronze, antique gold, black gold trim, copper gold trim, and white gold trim, among others.
To ensure good adhesion between the decorative coating (plating) and the surface of ironwork products, it is necessary to thoroughly clean the surface of the ironwork products of oxidation scale, weld slag, rust marks, grease, dirt, and moisture prior to the application of the coating (plating). Failure to do so may result in bubbling, cracking, peeling, and other phenomena. The term pre-treatment refers to the use of mechanical or chemical, electrochemical, and other process methods to eliminate surface defects on the ironwork products before coating (plating).
1. The primary methods for rust removal and slag and oxide scale removal include manual processing, mechanical processing, jet processing, chemical treatment (acid pickling), electrochemical treatment, and flame treatment.
Hand processing primarily utilizes sandpaper, scrapers, chisels, wire brushes, and worn-out sanding wheels, etc., to manually grind,敲铲, and brush away rust, oxidation scales, weld slag, and other surface impurities such as dust.
Mechanical processing commonly employs tools such as air (electric) brushes, rust-removing guns, polishing wheels, and air (electric) shovels. These tools utilize the high-frequency impact and friction of mechanical force to remove rust and scale, as well as old paint and other debris.喷射处理 involves using mechanical centrifugal force, compressed air, and high-pressure water as power sources to propel abrasives, sand, and steel shot onto the surface of ironwork products, thereby impacting and abrading away rust, stains, old paint, and molding sand.
Chemical treatment involves soaking or dissolving ironwork products in a special acidic solution, which, through chemical reactions, removes oxidation scale, rust, and oil stains, commonly referred to as "pickling."
2. For ironwork products, degreasing can generally be done using organic solvents, alkaline solutions, electrochemical methods, and various metal cleaners available on the market are also quite suitable.
