Guangzhou Microbiology Research Institute Co., Ltd. (formerly known as Guangzhou Microbiology Research Institute, Guangzhou Industrial Microbiology Testing Center, abbreviated as Guanggongwei), passed the Guangdong Province Metrological Certification (CMA) in 1998, obtained the laboratory recognition from the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) in 2003, was awarded the title of "Guangdong Province Famous Brand Product" in 2016, and in 2018, the qualification subject was changed to "Guangzhou Microbiology Research Institute." After decades of development, our center has become an integrated testing institution that encompasses product testing, technology research and development, standard setting, academic exchange, talent cultivation, and science popularization education. The center's quality management system complies with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025, and the testing data issued here is mutually recognized within the Asia-Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (APLAC) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), widely used in trade certification, product quality evaluation, and achievement identification. As fair data, it holds legal validity.

The Guangdong University of Technology Micro-Detection Center currently includes the Huangpu Detection Base (main location) and the Baiyun Detection Center (branch laboratory), with five detection departments and one branch laboratory: Light Industry Products Detection Division, Purification Products Detection Division, Environmental Health Detection Division, Animal Experiment Detection Division, Safety Regulation Detection Division, and Baiyun Branch Laboratory. It specializes in air purification product testing, disinfection product evaluation, cleanroom testing, public place evaluation, production environmental health monitoring and analysis, indoor environment testing, antimicrobial and anti-fungal product testing, product microbial contamination analysis and prevention, water quality testing, as well as quality testing for food, drugs, cosmetics, and other products. The center also offers microbial technical consulting and personnel training. Guangdong University of Technology Micro actively participates in scientific research in related fields, undertaking over 20 provincial and municipal scientific research projects, applying for 8 patents, and leading or participating in the formulation and revision of over 30 international, national, industry, local, and group standards. Among them, "ISO 17094(E):2014 Antimicrobial Ceramic (Advanced Ceramic) Antimicrobial Performance Testing under Visible Light Conditions" won the Second Prize of the Guangzhou Science and Technology Progress Award. The center, with its strong technical strength, has been providing long-term detection services and technical support to renowned universities and enterprises both within and outside the province.

The Guangdong University of Technology Micro-Detection Center is currently a public health inspection and evaluation institution for public places in Guangdong Province, a testing institution for the Guangdong Indoor Environmental Health Industry Association, and a registered testing institution for domestically produced non-special-purpose cosmetics. It has established "Guangdong Province Microbial Germplasm Resource Library," "South China Purification Air Product Testing Center," "Air Purification Product Certification Center," and "Guangdong Province Clean Engineering Testing Center" through scientific and technological projects approved by the Guangzhou Science and Technology Bureau in Guangdong Province.
