The 5GC Converged Core Network is a new generation mobile communication core network with independent intellectual property rights, developed in accordance with the 3GPP-5G technical specification recommendations. 5GC employs new ICT technologies and utilizes a service-oriented architecture to decompose network element functions into fine-grained network service function nodes.

The 5G system architecture employs an indigenous cloud-native design approach, which can be constructed based on open hardware platforms. Network Function Virtualization (NFV) is a key technology for realizing the cloud networking of the 5G system. Virtualization brings many benefits to the core network, such as easy scaling up, scaling down, upgrading, and splitting, which can significantly save resources and reduce maintenance difficulties and costs, making it possible for the miniaturization and lightweighting of core network equipment. Lightweight core networks can be widely used in small and medium-sized telecom operators, government and enterprise special networks, universities and research institutions, emergency rescue, and emergency support.
