KT579IIC-A5 operates on both 2.4/5.8GHz bands, offering a gigabit, high-power, multi-radio solution with air rates up to 1200Mbps. It supports fat/thin AP modes, can operate independently, or be centrally managed via an intelligent wireless access controller. It provides wireless internet access on the ground and underground, features terminal positioning capabilities (supports coverage+probe or full band probe), and transmits the signal strength of detected Wi-Fi terminals around to the positioning server (Position Server).

The explosion-proof grade of the KT579IIC-A5 wireless base station is Ex db IIC T6 Gb/Ex tb IIIC T80℃ Db, suitable for hazardous areas in Zones 1, 2, or Zones 20, 21. It is designed for environments with flammable gases or combustible dust, classified as IIA, IIB, IIC, within temperature groups T1-T6. Specific installation locations include underground tunnels, mines, oilfield exploration, refining, aerospace, chemical industry, offshore oil platforms, and other environments prone to flammable and explosive gases, as well as metal processing facilities with combustible dust.
