Product Introduction
Product Overview
Lead-acid batteries are often referred to as the "blood" of a DC power system, serving as a crucial defense for the normal operation of equipment. The lifespan of lead-acid batteries is influenced by various factors such as environment, temperature, float voltage, ripple, charging method, and maintenance. Over time, battery packs may exhibit insufficient capacity, with individual batteries showing changes in parameters like reduced capacity, high internal resistance, or abnormal terminal voltages. Additionally, some batteries may be damaged by external forces, connection stress, or cracked casings. This necessitates removing and replacing individual batteries from the system.
If there are two sets of battery packs, the system can be paralleled, allowing the faulty battery pack to be removed from operation and replaced directly. In contrast, with only one set of battery packs, the battery pack cannot be open-circuited or short-circuited, making the replacement process for the faulty battery pack extremely difficult. Common solutions include: 1) Operating with the fault until the power outage for maintenance and replacement; 2) Replacing the faulty battery by paralleling with a similar battery; 3) Using diodes.
Due to the battery being in a float charging standby state, over time, it may experience performance degradation, which can reduce the reliability of the DC power system operation. Therefore, it is highly necessary to conduct regular inspections, maintenance, or replacement of the battery.
Product Function and Purpose
Currently, in China, replacing failed batteries typically involves disconnecting the DC power supply, connecting the spare battery to the charger, and then removing the battery to be replaced, which significantly slows down the replacement process and affects the safety of the DC system's operation. In response to this, Wuhan Xinhua Fu Electric Equipment Co., Ltd. has developed an online battery replacement jumper - the ED0620 Battery Jumper, which can replace batteries without the need for power interruption.
The ED0620 type battery isolator can be used in the following three states:
Battery pack remains connected to the charger, and faulty batteries are directly replaced while the battery pack is in float charge state.
During the replacement process, if the charger's input power is cut off or the charger malfunctions, the faulty battery can be directly replaced.
During the replacement process, in the event of operation of a high-power reclosing device, a direct replacement of the faulty battery can be performed.
Product Features
The ED0620 battery jumper uses passive detection technology, achieving the requirement of synchronous voltage monitoring and current conversion through the fast recovery principle.
2. The ED0620 battery interconnect device features an alarm for bus voltage lower than battery group voltage, deep discharge alarm, and other warning functions.
3. The ED0620 battery jumper kit comes with a bypass switch, ensuring safe and reliable use with simple operation. After installation, it allows the main and control buses to be powered by the charger, achieving isolation of the battery bank without detaching it from the DC system, thereby guaranteeing safety during the maintenance of the DC power battery bank.
4. The ED0620 battery interconnect is a multi-functional unit, compatible with all battery banks below 500VDC at the same time.
5. Utilizing new high-power switching elements and surge absorption circuits, it ensures operation with impact load during closing, up to a maximum operating current of 200A.
6. Full insulation design, compact in size, lightweight, and easy to carry.
7. The ED0620 battery interconnect kit can be used for single battery maintenance, featuring bypass and backup auto-switching functions, significantly enhancing the safety of DC maintenance.
8. The Battery Interconnect does not require any modification to the charger's operating parameters.
