         Metal cutting fluid, grinding fluid, serves as a lubricant during the cutting process, reducing friction between the cutting edge and chips, and between the rear cutting edge and the machined surface. It forms a partial lubricating film, thereby decreasing cutting force, friction, and power consumption. It also lowers the surface temperature at the friction points between the tool and the workpiece blank, reducing tool wear and improving the machinability of the workpiece material.

During the grinding process, after adding the grinding fluid, it penetrates between the abrasive grains of the abrasive wheel and the workpiece, as well as between the abrasive grains and the chips, forming a lubricating film. This reduces friction between interfaces, prevents the abrasive cutting edges from wearing and adhering to the chips, thereby decreasing the grinding force and frictional heat, and improving the quality of the abrasive wheel and the surface of the workpiece.

Long-term operation leads to fluid contamination, affecting lubrication and cooling, and the quality of the workpiece surface.
